Brian enters his 25th year coaching at NEWHL, Brian brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm to every session he teaches. His patience on the ice is a great attribute, which makes for a positive learning environment. Brian was also the head coach of the Acton Boxboro Girls hockey team for the past 24 years, taking over the program in 1999. He just retired from the girls program In March of 2023
Brian went to Acton Boxboro Regional high school from 1990-1994 and played on the varsity hockey team for 4 years. After graduation he attended the University of Massachusetts at Boston from 1994-1998, playing 4 years for the Beacons. He then started his career as head coach of the Lady Colonials the following year. Over his 24 years at Acton Boxboro his teams were involved in 7 DCL/MVC Large titles, and have qualified for the state tournament 14 times. They were Division 1 State finalists, playing in the Boston Garden in 2011 and 2015. Brian was named Lowell Sun coach of the year in 2010, 2014, and 2015 and led the team to 313 wins in his career on the bench at AB .
The Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association inducted Brian in May of 2019. He is only the 3rd girls coach in Massachusetts history to receive
